We set the INVISIBLE screen attribute, and when the user enters his data we save it to a separate global variable. Then we use BEFORE FIELD and AFTER FIELD in the 4gl, setting the screen variable to NULL before and after the user enters the field. When we want to use what the user entered, we refer to the global variable. We're using 4GL version 4.10.UD1, OnLine version 5.00.UC2 Good Luck! _____________________________________________________ /| Clem Akins Standard Disclaimers Apply | || Reynolds Metals Co.
