Which queries/instructions or situations can result in long lasting "sleeping forever" conditions ? We had a few situations where the "sleeping forever" lasted that long that we had to reboot the server. (killing the process did not have any effect). Greetings, David.
Generally when a thread is "sleeping forever", it is waiting for some external event to occur. For instance, if the thead is sleeping forever on netnorm or smread, then it is waiting for the client program to send more data or requests to the thread.
