RE: Is there a gateway issue?

LOL... Sure Art... (:-P) Uhm I believe Verizon turned off their Usenet feeds a couple of years ago. Usenet is a peer to peer system, so yes, who you pull your feeds from is an issue. I think Supernews may still be around. Its been a while and I guess I could post via google groups. I just think its funny that the problems only happened to my posts. Incidently, I notice that when I post via the gateway, I never see my posts on the list back to me. Anyone else see that? To: im_gumby@hotmail.com CC: neil.truby@ardenta.com; informix-list@iiug.org This is not an IIUG filtration problem Gumby. Honestly, there is no filter on the gateway that I can locate. Besides, two posters have indicated that they were losing posts from a direct Usenet feed also. I suspect that the IIUG's Usenet source is one of the problematic ones. I will see what can be done. I have had trouble myself over the years with Usenet. At Bloomberg I had a direct Usenet connection set up for me (the only one in the company - wonder if they are still paying for it LOL) and every once in a while I'd lose 1/2 or all of the posts for a few days until I noticed and had our network admins call them. It seems that Usenet was bought by someone (Verizon I think) and they never pay any attention to those servers at all, so sometimes they just stop working and no one notices until some user calls in. Anyway I'll see what I can do. Art Art S. Yes, IDS has warts and yes there are a few brain dead things, however, both Oracle and DB2 are far worse. Y'all don't think marketing and sales matter, but they do.
