If you supply something you are a supplier whoever actually produced or maintain the product. I assume it will be 4J that maintains it and any new versions will be immediately available from Informix (possibly with some QA from Informix before release). The key is that we can get top notch development products from Informix again. We are still going to do everything in Java. That will take some time however, and in the meantime we need good products to maintain our 4GL code. Other companies like to have one supplier of database engines and tools, so I think this is a very good move from Informix.
