Joe,
Microsoft has something called "NetMeeting", a collaboration tool
that will be fully available (-> W95 -> NTS40 -> NTS3.51-> Mac, UNIX)
over the next eight months.
The telnet solution is a great short-term solution (heh, heh -- 14
years
and counting) but you'll be able to share apps later.
Right now, under Digital UNIX, I use strictly Web/HTML/CGI/Frame
front-ends to access all functions within Informix. What makes it
possible is the "isqlperl" (for Perl 4) and "(isqlperl-ized "commandline
"sql""
replacement for isql) that is easy to drive from CGI/Perl scripts.
Will begin ports to WNT 4.0 after I move some ISP online registration
scripts and databases over.
Regards,
Larry T.
