Exists characters for control each printer for example bold, 12 cpi,
15 cpi, landscape, italcs, etc. depending of the printer.
This character of control you can load into table in database from
ascii file, the table can be:
create table printer
( prn_name char(10),
prn_init char(40),
prn_bold char(20),
prn_normal char(10),
prn_5cpi char(10),
prn_7cpi char(10),
prn_10cpi char(10),
prn_15cpi char(10),
prn_17cpi char(10),
prn_21cpi char(10),
prn_underline char(10)
);
You can eject a "select sentence" in 4GL program depending of printer
for access to control character.
If you want I can send control character for epson, laserjet printers in
this context
