Gustavo, please take note that your Informix is higly recommended to upgrade, unless you have extended your support, you are at risk in case of a failure. Onbar return codes ranging from 2 to 34 are external errors, from XBSA. Table 1. Common ON-Bar return codesDecimal value ON-Bar return code description 2 through 34 These return codes are produced by XBSA. For more information, consult your storage-manager documentation and log files. Have you configured your SM correctly? Are the tapes/ is the library mounted? Check it's status in your SM console. Best regards.
Hi Alexandre! Thank you very much for answering. You know, I made sure to mount volumes, you have configured them correctly, but hangs Bar-On. Making a debug, I find that the On-Bar_d program has registered its processes with the server name (example: apollo), but the ISM console shows me his property the fully qualified name of the server (eg apollo.com.ar ) and debug the error message warning that this server is not registered appears. I uninstalled the ISM console, and I returned to install, but the problem persists. Is there any way to configure it through command line and then continue with the graphical console? Thank you! Greetings!
Hello, Gustavo.
Could you confirm your Informix instance name, in sqlhosts?
I think you might change your hostname, keeping the same configuration of your
SM, first.
If you confirm that in your OS (sorry, I don't remember which was it), and
onbar keeps doing the same output error,
then you might check your instance name in sqlhosts and $INFORMIXSERVER, and
ensure they are the same as configured in your SM.
In case they are not equal, you might reconfigure them in both mentioned
cases, and also you may have to edit your ixbar.[servernum] file.
Hope it helps.
Regards.

Alexandre Hello! First, I apologize for the delay in answering. I did what you suggested in your last post: I ran the "hostname" command and I returned the short name of the server. I noticed the SQLHOSTS Windows registry key, and in the short hostname server name appears. My question is: can I change the value directly in the registry without installing Informix spoil? Deeply I appreciate the help they offer me. A fraternal hug
Hello, Gustavo.
If your windows uses a DA domain account, as it seems to be, you should check
your machine name in your AD, and maybe correct it there.
If your hostname comes directly from your local machine, just change your
local configurations. But remember to do it with your informix instance
stopped.
You will also need to change your sqlhosts file/registry, to match your right
new "full" hostname.
As soon as you start your Informix engine, it should appears in onstat reports.
Hope it helps.
