There is a mean bug in LVM that makes performance drop by about 60%;I received this info from Informix. We do not use KAIO but I believe it applies to both. On large batch jobs there were no bottle necks but the jobs would take forever to complete. Our V seems to be cranking it out now since the patch was applied. We have a V2250: 16 gig of ram; 12 CPU's; 4 gig for Informix; EMC drives. It is tuned for SAP. HP V2250, IDS 7.30.FC3, HP-UX 11, 5 CPUs, 8GB RAM (5 allocated to IDS), RAID-5 devices that are allegedly well-tuned for read operations. Engine is tuned for DSS, tables are fragmented by expression (both elimination and parallelism are being achieved), KAIO is enabled, light scans are occurring, processor affinity is enabled for all CPUs, no indexes/all sequential scans.
