Cool - finally something real. I assume Wigwam Depot is Home Depot. I assume the 6000+ instances are the instances in the stores (3 per store ?)? Can you describe a little what they do (i.e product catalogs, POS data stores, etc etc). Workload profile ? Peak Transaction rates ? What release/version of Informix ? Is every instance the same in each store ? How often are they upgraded ? How are they initially provisioned ? Are they centrally managed ? Do they replicate back to a central server ? If you can give me some generic guidelines I can then try to match that to similar customers doing similar things with Oracle.
