RE: Senior Oracle DBA now Learning Informix by Request

3rd party training vendors...... no please, I have not experienced good Oracle training from 3rd parties. (yes, in my various attempts to understand Oracle, mostly I have taken classes from Oracle. I had one Oracle class from a 3rd party and they were not well equipped to answer deep questions. I will reserve my opinion on whether official training from Oracle can answer deep questions..... maybe it's just my inability to grasp it). Assume $3000 or $4000 (whatever it is now) a 5 day class to even the pricing, assign a different amount for 3 day class ..... standard is usually 3 day or 5 day class?... most of them cost about the same anyway. Then look at IBM Informix DBA training path for new Informix DBA, and Oracle Education training path for new Oracle DBA...... see what the vendors advise..... Wonder what that would turn up........ nope, I have no advance notion..... it could go either way... not something I've looked into... but now I'm curious. But to get around any vendor skew I would compare the DBA training offered by third party companies such as SAP, PeopleSoft etc for the different database vendors. And there was never any difference in the amount or cost of training courses for any one database environment over another. Frequency of delivery was always another thing, however. _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list ============================================================ The information contained in this message may be privileged and confidential and protected from disclosure.
