What about online documentation, then?

There is nothing specific now except one product: the Online Administrator's Guide V.5.0 is available right now as a Frame Hypertext document. It is gorgeous to look at on the screen, and very cleverly designed with hypertext links in all directions. You need to own FrameMaker to use it of course. We are deeply interested in getting into online doc; the question is in what media, delivered through what software, at what price, etc etc. All that depends on what the market is: who wants it and in what forms? This is the reason we sent out the email survey on online and CD-ROM earlier this week (only 20 or so responses as yet, by the way...). I've changed the subject line of this followup; hopefully it will start a new thread of discussion on topics such as: * what does "online documentation" mean to you? * what are appropriate delivery vehicles (media, software)? * what is the proper role of online versus printed manuals? All comments will be saved and pored over by people trying to make decisions about just this. (If you are coming to the User Conference next week, there's a BOF session scheduled for these topics, too.)
