Re: Is there a shapefile to informix geodetic datablade loader?

It appears that no one who is working on Informix Geodetic is reading this list at this time, since there was no response. I'll answer my own post so I don't feel too ignored ;-) In case it helps anyone else, I ended up writing a java translator to read from Informix Spatial and re-insert into Informix Geodetic. It's worth noting that the Spatial side repeats the first point in order to close a polygon, whereas the Geodetic Datablade automatically closes a polygon, and marks geometry invalid if you do repeat the first point. So it's important to leave off the last coordinate pair when going from Spatial to Geodetic. (Actually it's an error if any two or more consecutive points are the same.) I didn't find much on the web as far as documentation, but one higher level guide that compares Geodetic and Spatial datablades is http://www-3.ibm.com/software/data/informix/pubs/manuals/geo_spatial.pdf Unfortunately there are no code examples or lower level details in this document. -Ken Ken Tanaka wrote: > I know of the loadshp utility to load the ESRI shapefile format into > Informix Spatial, but I want to work with Informix Geodetic.
