Hello everyone,
I encounter the ODBC problem on IDS 7.3 linux edition trial version.
The system always complained password incorrect when I tried to
connect to database server from PC. Anyway, I made a test on dbaccess
utility. I try to connect to local database server by generic user account.
The system complained with :
952: User's password is not correct for the database server.
When I change the account to 'root', then every thing looks fine. I can
open any database without any problem.
Can some one tell me why? I appreciated any input or suggestion.
Your problem is called password shadowing. You will have to turn of password
shadowing, to allow your configured users to connect to the database.
use /usr/sbin/pwunconv to change password shadowing.
