Hello! Informix manual states, that optimal BUFFERS parameter should be about 25% of physical memory. Is there any argument against making this about 40% of memory? Thanks! As Obnoxio says, you want to avoid using memory that might more profitably be used by other applications, or the OS. At some point there becomes a law of diminishing returns with BUFFERS, beyond which increases realise no discernible cache rate improvements. dins dins wrote in message <854ld1$b4j$1@news.xmission.com>... > >Hello! > >Informix manual states, that optimal BUFFERS parameter >should be about 25% of physical memory. > >Is there any argument against making this about 40% of >memory? > >Thanks! > >Din > >__________________________________________________ >Do You Yahoo!? >Talk to your friends online with Yahoo!
