You must use ln -s
Also:
chown informix /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3
chgrp informix /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3
chmod 660 /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3

You may need to be in /dev when you are creating a link and make sure
that informix has the permission to read and write and is the owner of
the devices.
TRY THIS.
chown informix /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3
> chgrp informix /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3
> chmod 660 /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3
/dev> type ln /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0p3 rootdisk
and then change your root path to be /dev/rootdisk.
This should work.
I changed mine yesterday "07-01-2000" and it worked.
