I have been in the process of converting 2.1 ACE reports to run under Informix 4.1 and have discovered two troubling items. The first, when doing saceprep on an ace report with 33 select statements (we run some intense reports), I consistently got a -8018 gramatical error pointing to a completely illogical line. Commenting out various select statements caused the error to move. Once I had commented out 3 select statement, the .arc file was successfully created. I discovered that if I commented out ANY 3 select statements, .arc was created. (Note, this ace report compiled and ran fine under 2.10.03K on HP9000/370 HPUX 8.0.) Is 30 select statements some magic number? But actually getting the data to output was another story. Of course, all these select statements ran fine from ISQL. But when I ran them using sacego, the output file was empty. Just for the heck of it, I combined 2 select statements, thus I had 29 select statements and suddenly the expected data existed in the output file. Is 29 select statements some other magic number?? We are running on HP9000/750 ISQL 4.10.UD2 HPUX 8.07 -- - eko __ | | | | ___________________________________________________________ | \\ | | | \\ | Ellen K.
