Complete information about Y2K compliance is available on the Informix WEB Site, but here is the quick and dirty: ALL Informix products have always properly stored years as 4 digits so your data is already compliant no matter what Informix version you have been using. However, if you accept 2 digit years as input and do not supply the century yourself earlier Informix products always assumed dates in the 20th century (ie 1900). The DBCENTURY environment variable was added to give the user/programmer control over 2digit -> 4digit century expansion. The following are the first versions to correctly support this option: Informix Dynamic Server IDS 7.24UC5 Informix Dynamic Server IDS 7.30UC1 Embedded SQL in C ESQL/C 7.24 Software Development Kit SDK 2.10 (replaces ESQL/C) Informix 4GL Compiled/Pcode C/R4GL 7.10 Informix Standard Engine DBMS SE 7.24 Informix Online DBMS Engine OL 5.10 If you have earlier versions of these products you need to upgrade ONLY if you accept input dates without century.
