dbcopy and shm

Can dbcopy use a shared memory connection? When I run dbcopy using a
shared memory connection, I get the following error:
Error opening source host connection: -27000, 0
Here is the command I am running
dbcopy -hcss_shm -Hcss_shm -dcssdb -Dcssnapdb -tcdofc -F
It seems to work fine for the tcp connection, but I would assume a shm
connection would be faster.
Here is the command that works:
dbcopy -hcss -Hcss -dcssdb -Dcssnapdb -tcdofc -F
onstat -ntu tells me that dbcopy is using a tcp connection
Here is some relevant info:
onconfig file:
DBSERVERNAME css_shm # Name of default database server
DBSERVERALIASES css # List of alternate dbservernames
NETTYPE ipcshm,2,250,CPU
NETTYPE soctcp,1,100,NET
sqlhosts file:
css onsoctcp dethpux1 sqlturbo
css_shm onipcshm dethpux1 srv_agent
My accounting app (which runs on the server), runs in shm without
issues, runnning on HPUX 10.2.
Thanks.

Dbcopy uses a separate connection to a database server for each side of the
copy. That is why it can copy between databases with incompatible logging
modes. However, Informix permits only one shared memory connection per
task. So the answer is yes it can use shared memory BUT only for one of
the connections. Use -h and -H to specify the DBSERVERALIAS or DBSERVERNAME
for each connection separately (as you tried to do but you supplied the
shared memory alias for both. If only one of these is supplied it is used
for both.

But this will also work:
bcopy -hcss -Hcss_shm -dcssdb -Dcssnapdb -tcdofc -F
I have found that the shared memory connection is more important on the
target side than the source side. But YMMV, test. Another thing you can
do it this copying within the same server will be a common thing is to
create an ipcstr connection which is noticable faster than tcp connections.
