variables between pages

Hi group, I'm using IDS 2000 + Web datablade 4.00.UC1 on a SuSE 6.2 I've a page to perform a search into a table, the results will be displayed in a table (HTML) on the same page. In that table there is a link .../?MIval=/modify.html&key=$7) for each row to pass the row number in another page and then modify the record. The interested record will be written into a form and after modification you can submit the form to perform an UPDATE ... For a verification key=<?MIVAR>$key<?/MIVAR> show me the actual row value. Before form submission the value is correct, but after it return to default value (1); this involves that I modify always the first record. How can I memorize the value of that variable? Another question: when use the first page (search.html) a session ID will be displayed; how can I use the same id (and then variables) in the following pages? Any help or suggestions is apreciated Auri
I'm not sure what you are doing but check out vector variables, but I suspect you have an unconditional variable reset on the target page, this is common if you are POST'ing the form back into itself. The session.ID is available for all pages that are generated within the current connection state, you might need to check out how it's being maintained, either cookie or URL based. You have 'pseudo' global variables with the session variable, you just need to set it so <?MIVAR cond=(NXST,$session.eric) value=session.eric>ERIC<?/MIVAR> should give you a global variable session.eric that is set to ERIC when it is first tested for.
