FW: Performance dive over time
Posted in 2000
You are right about too many CPU VPS. I currently have 7 on a machine that
only has 4 physical cpus - don't ask.
We've been having performance problems since we migrated to this machine on
August 04. We are also running with an Informix patch and not the standard
oninit anymore. The system runs almost 400 unix sessions with 2 Online 9
instances (9.21 FC1, HP-UX 11.00)
With 5 + 2 CPU VPS, my ready queues are alot smaller than running with less.
We've made many changes in the last 4 months and are still working on it.
NOAGE and RECIDENCY proved bad for us. Just installed MaxConnect on the
weekend, but unfortunately don't see a big difference.
We are now in the process of moving data from the one instance to the other
to get rid of one of them.
Dirk

What platform/Online version?
