Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hello Informix Fans,
We've encountered the above error on 12.10.FC11X1.
SCHAPI: [Auto Update Statistics Evaluation 55-4] Error -272 No SELECT
permission for sysdistrib.ninserts.
It seems to be a known issue that's supposed to be fixed in 11.70.xC8.
IC92183: CONVERSION ADDING NEW SYSDISTRIB FIELDS WITHOUT PROPER COLUMN LEVEL
PRIVILEGES
Found a workaround via,
http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC92183, but link goes to a
non-existent page.
Has anyone encountered this issue before and kept a document of the
workaround? Appreciate it if you can send them through.
Thanks,
Edcel

Have you run UPDATE STATISTICS manually after the upgrade ? Or restarted
Informix ?
In any case you can check the following link:
https://www.cursor-distribution.de/en/ibm-software/support-informix/index.php?op
tion=com_ibmbuglist&view=bugdetail&type=Informix&get_bug=IC92183&Itemid=1185
An I will write down here, in case the link stops working.
as user informix:
for i in 14 15 16 17;do
echo "insert into syscolauth values ('informix', 'public', 24,
$i, 's--');";
done | dbaccess <your_database>
I reported the issue back in 2013. The workaround originally provided by IBM
stated that should also run:
update statistics for table sysdistrib;
in the same database after inserting the new entries into syscolauth.
