Hi folks! Somebody knows when IDS 9.50 will be released and what features = introduces. Regards, Diego
Hi Diego, I've gathered from Mark Scranton's website (http://www.iiug.org/markscranton/informix/informix.htm) that IDS v9.5 is set for general availability on Jan 2005. Some of the major features are: - Column-level encryption - a very popular customer request to allow encryption of data at the column level. - Enterprise Replication Templates - to make the administration of ER much easier. - Configurable Page Sizes - the ability to create dbspaces and objects in that dbspace with a configurable page size. This will also bring multiple buffer pools if there is more than one page size in the engine. - Permissions through roles at the database level. - Allocation of memory to non-PDQ queries - for large queries that are not run as PDQ, you can allocate memory to that query specifically. - External Optimizer Directives - the ability to store specific directives and apply them to a query "on the fly." - Table Level restores with archecker. - Support for JDBC 3.0 - Support for .NET Regards, Edcel ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Diego Cazares" <dcazares@sinergyteam.com.ec> To: ids@iiug.org Subject: IDS 9.50 [3893] Date: Fri, 17 Dec 2004 17:06:35 -0500 (EST) Hi folks!
