Informix mirroring

Hi all, Have any one tested out informix mirroring. Well I run Informix 9.4 (linux version) and had mirroring turned on....followed the doc and was successful in making it work. I tested the mirroring by taking the primary chunk of the database down and running insert/select sqls... All seems to work. But when I tried HD failure by booting up the machine removing the HD which contains the primary chunk, it ran into errors. Well the error is I can read from the mirror chunk, but for some strange reason I can write into it. I tried a table create and insert syntax thru dbaccess and the prompt just hung ( no log writes also). Can any1 help me on this . PS :: for some strange reason the pages used of the all mirrors are same as pages available(checked thru onmonitor status). But when i downed the primary chunk of a database and ran a onstat -D its showed available pages more than 0, which shld have been 0 if the status of the mirror chunk thru onmonitor is right !
