If you are still using versions < 6.x for the frontend, then you will encounter a massive performance degradation due to the change in IPC mechanisms between versions before and after 6.x, forcing you to use the "relay module" to communicate between the frontend and the backend. Recompile your application with the 6.x version of the frontend tools, and you should be back to useful performance.
