ontape on Linux

Hi!
I have problem with ontape on IDS7.3 on 2 processor Linux 2.2.14 RH6.1.
Continuos backup of log files (ontape -c to /dev/null) dies
unexpectedly.
It runs o.k.for some amount time (hours) and then just vanishes without
any (known?) particular reason.
Thanx,
Damijan
Hi,
IDS 7.30 is not supported for SMP linux. There are quite a lot of
troubles on SMP systems. ontape does not work correctly, there are
locking problems and other hassles.
Maybe IDS 2000 is certified for SMP systems on Linux. I did not
check, yet.

So building kernel without SMP support should help?
