SP: Why does this not work?
Posted in 2000
Environment: IDS 7.31UC5 on Solaris 2.6 Hi all, I'm trying to call a C exe from a Stored Procedure but its giving me a 668 Error: System command cannot be executed. A system call failed in the operating system. The following example shows a statement that might cause an error: SYSTEM 'hello'; Make sure that the system command is not trying to run something that is not in your path or that is not applicable to the environment. Make sure that you have provided a user-id and password when connecting to the database server. The database server must have the user's password in order to execute a command on behalf of that user. I've traced down the error to the getlogin() C function. If I remove that line, the SP works. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I tried using getenv("LOGNAME") but it also gives me that same error. You could try it yourself. Just write a small C program that calls any of those functions. E.g.: main() { printf(getlogin()); } Thanks, Lyzander * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet's Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free!
