Dropping a Down'ed chunk/dbspace

An engine assert fail resulted in the last chunk of the dbspace being marked
as Down - see below /ondata/extra_4. This is a data mining system of
entirely derived data therefore no archives. To save data-regeneration time
I would like to recover without an instance initialization, this begs 2
questions :-
1) The Down'ed chunk looks empty, but an onspace -d .. -p (drop chunk)
fails, if I were to free up the rest of the dbspace would a drop entire
dbspace work ? Can I force (fool?) informix into what I want to do.
2) oncheck -pe (and -ce) produces no output for the problem dbspace,
how can I use sysmaster to find out what database/tables/indices etc are in
this dbspace ?

Try using:
onspaces -s devdbs2 -p /ondata/extra_4 -o 0 -O -y
If that does not work you will have to call Informix tech support and have
them dial in and mark the chunk up.

^^ Surely -d not -s ?? They are next to one another on the
keyboard..
PS I'm back....
In the last few weeks I've a) moved house again and b) bought a new PC
(PIII 550, 256Mb RAM, 27Gb hard disk, Diamond Viper TNT II Ultra 32Mb
Graphics..Cool!) I planned to move the FAQ development to this beast
but getting it working it harder than I first thought. Every floppy I
touch seems to develop errors!
Anyway after a good thumping from Kerry I decided to stick with this
486 Dx2/66 and dedicate next weekend to putting out a new version of
the FAQ with most of the 50 or so pending updates processed..
Apologies to everyone for not working harder on the FAQ.

Umm. No. Actually it is '-s', I was suggesting that the poster force the
chunk back online (with -s -O) and THEN try to drop it.
