Searching Termcap config

Hello list! I'm searching for the right settings of the Termcap file. I want to use a german "umlaute" and, if possible square brackets. In vt100 from .profile (vt220-7 from terminal emulation) I got the umlaute but no square brackets. After leaving the vi I loose the cursor-keys. Sorry - but I don't know how to set the vt100 to set the keypad to terminal mode all the time... I tested scoansi. I get the square brackets but no umlaute. Is there someone who can give the right settings to me? A termcap-file sent to me direct would be very friendly. Best regards and thanx in advance. Dirk Emmermacher

There are a bunch of termcap examples at http://www.iiug.org/software/index_MISC.html They're pretty old, but then so is termcap. They may give you some ideas.
