When moving databases across operating systems (AIX to Linux in your case)
I would avoid just copying the files over (this is SE) since they may not
be binary compatible. That is probably what the ISAM error is saying to
you. I would dbexport from AIX and dbimport into Linux.

Hello Everyone,

I have to port an SE database from AIX 4.1 to Linux RH 5.2.
I have dbaccess functioning perfectly on the linux machine.
When I open the database with dbaccess I get:

329: Database not found or no system permission.
171: ISAM error: isam file format change detected

Since all permissions are correct I suppose that the problem lyes on
the index file format.

I tried bcheck -s on some tables for instance on zonas__142 but,

$ bcheck -s zonas__142

BCHECK C-ISAM B-tree Checker version 7.24.UC5
Copyright (C) 1981-1997 Informix Software, Inc.
Software Serial Number AAB#J481342

C-ISAM File: zonas__142

Old index node size = 1024
Key node size = 30

ISAM error: isam file format change detected

It creates a file named zonas__142.idx and the original index is renamed
to zonas__142.IDX but then nothing seems to work properly. I can't even
run bcheck again.

What seems to be happening ?
Could anyone help me ?

Thanx in advance
