Ouch! A user has root permissions? That's not a user, that's a systems
administrator!
If you have version 7.20 or greater, then you should be able to just run
the install commands again. This should set the correct ownership's,
including the root owned files! ;-)
Otherwise, the files in $INFORMIXDIR/etc which end in ...files have all
the permissions. You could write a script to re-run these.

Or download the script that does it already from the IIUG web site -- utils_jl.
