Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
The poster wanted to capture a history of all SQL executed on an Informix instance, not just the active statements shown by "onstat -g sql", and asked whether onaudit would do this and what performance cost it would carry. Replies didn't really address onaudit; instead they pointed to third-party monitoring tools (Cobrasonic's DBSonar, AGS Server Studio with Sentinel) and to IDS 11's built-in SQL tracing via the OpenAdmin Tool, noted as available only on 11.10+. The poster said he would try the DBSonar evaluation; no outcome was reported.

Hi,
I would like to monitor all the SQLs executed or running in the
Informix Engine.
I can use "onstat -g sql ..." utility but this will show the active
SQL's information, but i would like to see the history SQL's status as
well.
I heard that "onaudit" can be used to capture all SQL's status like
Executed by whom, executed time and completed time and so on. If I
turn on this feature, will there be any performance issue in Informix
Engine?
or Is there any third party tool to monitor my Informix Engine?
Any notes or Web-link refering to Onaudit @ Informix will be
appreciated.
Regards,
Ravi Shankar N.

Cobrasonic's DBSonar and AGS's Server Studio with Sentinel are both
capable of tracking your SQL.
