I'm trying to connect to Infromix Dynamic Server Version 7.3 running under Windows NT v.4.0 using Infromix OLEDB Provider 3.31 32Bit If I try to create a new data source using de ODBC Data Source Administrator I get de following error as I try to test de connection: "Test connection was NOT soccessful.[Infromix][Informix ODBC Driver] Unable to load translation DLL." If I try to build a connection string for the AdoDc control in Microsoft Visual Basic, I get de following error as I try to test de connection: "Test connection faild because of an error in initializing provider. XIX000:-25557; Network internal error." Can ayone help me on this? Thanks Elsa Perales
Well, if you use ODBC admin, you are using ODBC rather than OLEDB. Since they both fail, I'd suspect that you have a problem with Client SDK installation. Try to connect using Informix ILogin demo. If it does not work either, check that INFORMIXDIR is set in SETNET32, its bin subdirectory is in the PATH, server is defined in SETNET32 and if server is on UNIX machine, you specified your password in SETNET32. If ILogin works but neither ODBC nor OLEDB does, I'd check MDAC installation - I think it ought to be 2.1. lepoold Elsa Perales Garza <eperales@gint.com.mx> wrote in message news:84tccd$2fn$1@news.mty.itesm.mx... > I'm trying to connect to Infromix Dynamic Server Version 7.3 running under > Windows NT v.4.0 using Infromix OLEDB Provider 3.31 32Bit > > If I try to create a new data source using de ODBC Data Source Administrator > I get de following error as I try to test de connection: > > "Test connection was NOT soccessful.[Infromix][Informix ODBC Driver] Unable > to load translation DLL." > > If I try to build a connection string for the AdoDc control in Microsoft > Visual Basic, > I get de following error as I try to test de connection: > > "Test connection faild because of an error in initializing provider. > XIX000:-25557; Network internal error." > > Can ayone help me on this? > Thanks > > Elsa Perales > > > >
