Sanjit Your compiler has most likely detected a memory leak. You are not freeing memory which you malloc'd earlier. This kind of problem is difficult to detect, manually. You can use the free drop-in debugging malloc replacement package dbmalloc.a (available at http://www.clark.net/pub/dickey/dbmalloc/dbmalloc.html) to debug it.
