Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

We recently upgraded to IDS 7.31.UC6 and I've noticed some differences
in the onstat outputs. One I'm interested in is onstat -R. There are new
priority levels. Can someone enlighten me on these or point me to some
documentation. I didn't find any mention of it in the Answers Online for
7.3. TIA

IDS 7.3x introduced buffer priority classes. Resident tables are class
HIGH, index pages MED-HIGH, normal data MEDIUM, and index NODES and system
catalogue pages are classed LOW. When a page needs a buffer to be read into
it cannot flush a higher priority buffer only the same or lower class. This
helps the more important data to stay resident.
In 7.31 priority aging was introduced to prevent starvation of the lower
classes. A buffer that has not been access in a certain time frame is
demoted.
This and the onstat output are documented in the new Administration
Utilities Guide (or somthing like that).
