MY SQL brain seems to be taking a vaction. I've got a problem with a SELECT : The from clause is FROM A, OUTER D,OUTER E,B,OUTER C It complains about an outer caretisan product (not surprisingly). I need A to be the master table and D, E & B to be subservient to it. However C has to be subservient to B and I don't want an outer join between A and B. I've tried using brackets to no avail - syntax errors Any ideas? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Post the entire select and someone should be able to help.
All the same, the OUTER clause works in conjuction with the WHERE clause
join conditions. So, something like this should give you results you can
use.
select ...
from a, outer d, outer e, b, outer c
where a.col = d.col
and a.col = e.col
and a.col = b.col
and b.col = c.col
