DB connection error with 40 Users

Hi there.. We are sucessfully running Informix On-Line 7.12 on AIX 4.1 since one year now. When 40 users are running the application, all works fine. When one additional user tries to open the application, he gets the following error back: "Network error - fork failed.." With DBACCESS , I get the error " The applet cannot connect to the server server_sm" when I try to use "Database - Select " option I guess there's a parameter to increase ?? (USERS) How many network connections are configured?
