New Utility Shell Script - table-iostats.sh
Posted in 2000
Hi Family. I've been away for a while (a couple-a-weeks?) but I brought back a present. If your system is getting beaten up in I/O want to see whaich tables are getting beaten on the most. This information is available in sysmaster:sysptprof but it's hard to interpret, especially if it's in index fragment being hit - the table name will show up as the name of the index. table-iostats.sh to the rescue; it presents the data in readable format and you can easily choose which table or dbspace you want to monitor. In the iiug archives, you will find it under database administration with the archive name table_iostats. The URLs are: Downloading: ftp://ftp.iiug.org/pub/informix/pub/table_iostats.gz Viewing: http://www.iiug.org/members/memb_software/archive/table_iostats Developing it gave me pause over the shell techniques I used in partitions.sh so a new version of the latter (no new features, just cleaner code) may be in the wings. Enjoy. -- +----- Jacob Salomon - DBA JakeSalomon@deja.com - ---------------------+ |------------------- Bulletin Board Announcement ----------------------| | Congregants will please note that the bowl at the back of the church | | bearing the sign "For the Sick" is for monetary contributions only. | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
