ESQL update cursor problem

One of our developers has reported the following problem, does anyone have a solution? He has declared an update cursor using the "with hold" option. If he tries to do a commit within the cursor the program loses the current of value so it is losing its place within the cursor and can't continue with the rest of the updates plus the amount of data is too large to complete within a single transaction. We need to know what is required within the cursor to allow multiple transactions. Eric

What versions of database server and ESQL/C are you using? Heiko
