Re: Informix Performance Test

Can you try to run HPL locally? You could then prove that it was not ODBC. In my Data Warehouse application I am getting about 10,000 rows/second/dbspace insert rate. Each row is about 85 bytes. I was impressed by the 10,000 rows/second to a single dbspace but when I fragmented the table round-robin across 4 dbspaces and got 40,000 rows/second I was REALLY impressed. I plan to try 8 fragments on the really big tables since I have 8 processors and see if this holds true. I also have the benefit of having limited RI and no indexes. In another application using ODBC I experience very poor performance on everything, even over 155mbps ATM. It is an NT box also. I tried it over 10mbps ethernet to my DW box and had similar performance, so I still would believe it is something in ODBC.
