Which platform? Why do people omit key information like this? The ins and outs of this are gruesome; if I explained everything, I'd start at a megabyte of message and probably keep going for a while beyond that. I'll merely mention bug B31661, and point out that it has about a dozen related bugs. It appears that the i4gl you are using is invoking a 6.00 or later version of ESQL/C with the -locals option, and the ESQL/C is complaining that it cannot honour your request to keep the cursors local because the cursors have already been mangled by I4GL to 18 characters each. I think the answer is "Upgrade" because this was a problem aeons ago (circa 6.00 or 6.01 I4GL) and is not a current problem (7.20, 7.30) AFAIK. If upgrade is not an option, then use c4gl since that works and i4gl doesn't. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.95 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
