Not sure of the syntax, but I remember from my relational database theory course that any respectable DBMS should provide ways to implement ON DELETE ... and ON UPDATE ... etc. In Informix, I think you may use the SYSTEM command to execute UNIX (system) commands, so you may be able to do something like: on update of <table> system "sendmail <yourname> 'Table <tablename> has been updated.>" I'm not sure how you may get info on the exact row that was deleted/updated, or how to interface with your fax/phone/pager, but I hope I helped to start you off on the right track.
