It's an operating system level error, 'I/O error'. If the users are
connecting via telnet, and they are getting kicked off of the telnet
sessions, most likely, the problem isn't in Informix. The error showing
up in the online log is most likely just a message telling you that the
user went away unexpectedly. I would check the date and time that
telnetd was last started. I'd bet it was at about the same time as you
encountered the problem. telnetd died, killing the terminals, and then
init started it back up, which is why it let you log in. If this is the
case, you might have better luck posting a message to that effect on the
SCO newsgroup.
