Problem while working with different users.

Hi Informix users, I have a problem while two or more people are working (writing and updating) on the same tables. I get the error message -244 Could not do a physical-order read to fetch next row. So I suppose that when one user uses the table, the other can't reach it. Is there a parametre, setting that avoids such problem? I already changed the lock mode of the table to lock mode row. I use a OWS 7.31.UC2 database. Thanks, Danny
Try setting the lock mode to wait 5. (This is an application parameter, though, not an engine configuration parameter.) You are almost certainly correct on your assumption. You can do SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT n where n is the number of seconds you are willing to wait. It is still possible you are getting deadlock errors(The ISAM code will tell you), in which case you need to decide whether you want the program to abort, or try to do whatever it was doing again. Hope this helps, Will
