Sorry for my english. We are just now in the process of migration from SE 4.2 to IDS 7.2, but before dbexport-dbimport, we need to do changes at some table structures, but the engine reports a "file locked" as we try to modify the table structure only on one table. How can i "unlock" the table? Operating system: OPEN SERVER 5.0.5 Machine: HEWLETT PACKARD NETSERVER LC-3 Engine: SE 4.2 (by now) Thanks a lot if anybody can help us. ===== ______________________________________Luis Carlos D'az OteroALCANOS DE COLOMBIA S.A. Why do you want to change table structure?
Just do dbexport. After that you can change your_dbname.sql file (you should do
that to adjust your schema to IDS 7.x rules - primary keys, foreign keys, ...).
With some UNIX tools (sed, cut, paste, awk) you have to change tabname.unl files
for changed table structures. Now you can dbimport your database. You also can
create your database and tables with dbaccess and than do 'load from .. insert
into ..' for every table.
