I had a similar problem recently in 7.12 when having completed a restore the temp
dbspaces were inconsistent. Database worked fine but exhibited the behaviour
you mention.
This is a known bug with informix and fixed in version 7.20.
Workaround is to drop and recreate temp dbspaces following a restore (fast).
If you carry out the archive and restore in as particular way the problem doesn't
arise.

Dear all,
could anybody answer the following questions, please.
1. How can I get info in which dbspace a table was created ?
2. How can I get list of tables created in one dbspace ?
3. Where (dbspace) are explicit temporary tables created ?
If I have set the enviroment variable DBSPACETEMP as well as
the configuration parameter DBSPACETEMP, the explicit
temporary tables should be located in specified dbspace, as
the manual says. But ...
What I have tried :
1. onstat -d > d.1
2.a create temp table
2.b select ... into temp
3. onstat -d > d.2
4. diff d.1 d.2
My spaces : 1 rootdbs
2 tempdbs
3 datadbs
The result I got at point 4 is :
Only space, which was touched (grew) is rootdbs.
It seems like my temporary table was created in rootdbs
despite of environment or configuration settings.
My environment :
online .... 7.11.UC1 platform .. DEC Alphaserver 1000 o.s........ Digital Unix 3.2c
DBSPACETEMP tempdbs (enviroment variable as well as configuration
parameter)
Thank You.
Yours Rasto.
