Hi All
Where the information "onstat -g dis" comes from ?
I have a 11.5 environment with 3 existing instances, I dropped an old instance
but I can see its name in "onstat -g dis".
This doesn't cause any issue for operation but I am wondering where this info
comes from ?
Regards
Ali

hi
Maybe from file
infos file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc
and/or .conf.xxxxxxx
ls -la will show you hidden files
for example
.infos.asp132_ecmp_live
.conf.asp132_ecmp_live_rep
removing these files you will find onstat -g dis no longer displays instance.

As you've found out, some of the information comes from /INFORMIXTMP
(especially the list of directories that have been used as $INFORMIXDIR),
and some comes from the '.conf.<server>' files in the individual
$INFORMIXDIR/etc directories. Running servers have '.infos.<server>' files
too.
