Silvester,
I would think you'd have to know how much data you have in each
chunk, for a given data base. If there's a command for this then
I look silly but so be it. So I wrote a cheezy little report
to add up used space for each chunk.
:-)
It's called chk_chunks and you can find it at my little web site.
A variety of sorted reports comes out of it.
Look either in the May ezine or the master tools listings. Output
can be sorted by disk or by chunk. It may help you understand
your dbspaces a little better especially on systems with lots of
disks or lots of spaces.
There's another one called Dspace, which somebody here in the group
wrote a while back, but it had an error in it. The error was that
it would eliminate counting up temp-dbspaces in the listing, which
you might want to watch along with other spaces. So, I fixed it,
and expanded the listing to include a little more information.
Awk will overflow quite easily on a variety of systems big and small
so sizes are in KB.
There may be other ways to this, so count this as only one way among
many. It's amazing with the myriad of options onstat comes with that
they haven't put this in it. Or separated onstat -d into two separate
reports.
