Are you running on AIX?
From IDS_7.3 release notes:
Kernel AIO is supported on this platform. For KAIO to work, the AIO
driver needs to be configured into the AIX system. AIO can be configured
as given in 1. above. If AIO is not configured, oninit will report
the following error at start up
0509-037 System error - error data is: oninit
0509-023 Symbol kaio_rdwr in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol listio in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol acancel in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol iosuspend in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-022 Cannot load library libc.a[aio.o].
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.
Portable Streams Environment (PSE) can be loaded using
/usr/sbin/strload command and Asynchronous IO (AIO) device can
be enabled (loaded) using either the 'smit' interface or using
the command /usr/sbin/mkdev -l aio0. For further information
consult AIX documentation.
Devices -> Asynchronous I/O -> Change/Show Characteristics
The State value should be "available".

Subject: On line engine won't start
Help,
I have tried to bring up the online engine with oninit -vy. I get the
following message. Could someone please tell me what the problem might
be. I am very new to Informix.
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program oninit because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol kaio_rdwr in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol listio in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol acancel in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol iosuspend in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined.
0509-022 Cannot load library libc.a[aio.o].
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid
form
at.
We were trying to add space the /usr logical volume, could this have created
the problem? can you help me fix it.
Thanks
Libi
