Hi All , Need some help with installing DBD module. I have followed instrustion as per README file. But I cannot get past the test for compiling esqlbasic. It compiles OK but when I run it the following message is displayed. ld.so.1: ./esqlbasic: fatal: libifasf.so: open failed: No such file or directory Killed What have I missed ? The README states that if I cannot get this working I have a problem with my Informix Environment. But what am I missing. Last time I compiled an ESQL/C program was at least 4 years ago so my knowledge on that is a bit lacking. I have also down loaded the latest version of Client SDK from IDN. Add $INFORMIXDIR/lib and $INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql to the value. > What have I missed ? The README states that if I cannot get this > working I have a problem with my Informix Environment. I went to look at what the README file really says, and there's plenty of hints about this, but not an answer per se. There are also fairly explicit instructions on how to report problems. However, asking in this news group is also OK. There's a problem with the test code in Makefile.PL in that it does not use the library name mapping code which the main build of DBD::Informix uses, and this means that you *do* need LD_LIBRARY_PATH set while running the configuration step (perl Makefile.PL), even if you won't need it ever again after that. That needs to be fixed. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
Hi , That was the problem. I had set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH before the make but not before I ran perl Makefile.PL. Cheers and Thanks very much Pankaj > > As Sujit said, this problem is triggered by not having the > LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable set.
