I've downloaded the informix-CLI and spent a LONG time trying to get that to work as well. This is what I have set up: AIX box: /etc/services bbibrs01_service 1536/tcp /informix/etc/sqlhosts: bbibrs01_se seipcpip bbibrs01 sqlexec bbibrs01_se setlitcp bbibrs01 bbibrs01_service windows NT client: windows/system32/drivers/etc/services bbibrs01_service 1536/tcp When running ilogin with the following: server bbibrs01_se hostname bbibrs01 servicename bbibrs01_service protocol onsoctcp username xx password xx database xxxx I get the -908 error and also start to go slightly crazy. If anyone is reading this, please help! Paul Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

If the machine names can be resolved, do a iLogin test from NT to AiX. If the iLogin works, try the CLI. HTH, Nona
